EDUCATION 

ABC New Mexico is committed to educating the construction workforce. An educated workforce is one that is more professional, productive, and safe.

Apprenticeship Training: We offer apprenticeship programs in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, and Sheet Metal, accredited by NCCER and approved by the State Apprenticeship Council. Applicants hold good jobs with ABC member companies while they learn on-the-job and in the classroom, becoming skilled journeymen at the end of four years of training.

Electrical Continuing Education:
Through a cooperative agreement with the Northern New Mexico Independent Electrical Contractors, we offer the State-approved continuing education courses required for all electrical journeymen.

Foreman Leadership Training: Foreman leadership development training is provided regularly to help field supervisors hone their leadership skills. This series is 16 hours.

Construction Management Series: Training is designed for seasoned and new supervisors who wish to enhance their management and technical skills. This class is offered in 5 sessions, totalling 26 weeks.

Company Owners: ABC regularly updates members on legal and regulatory changes that impact a construction company’s bottom line.

Safety: Our Safety Team provides an on-going selection of courses to keep every employee safe on the job. Members are encouraged to request topics for training.
