Preferred Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred in the following: drywall; framing; basic plumbing; basic carpentry and masonry; and basic building repair.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Essential Functions.

  • Perform basic dry wall and framing duties including rough carpentry, finish carpentry and trim work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and building plans to perform required construction tasks and meet the needs of clients.
  • Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials.
  • Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and doorframes.
  • Help put up, level, and install building framework with the aid of large pulleys and cranes.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
  • Instruct and direct laborers and other construction trade helpers.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • The position may perform tasks including masonry, form and finish concrete.

  • The employee will be expected to work outside in various weather conditions and must have suitable clothing conducive to the work environment. Inventory/Project Coordinator

 

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and consistently improve Varitec’s inventory control through our various warehousing operations.  Will keep detailed records of any changes in inventory and report these changes to the proper departments.  This position also supports the outside and inside sales teams.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Utilize interpersonal, professional, and technical skills to effectively perform the duties of this position. These duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Interface with the sales teams and provide excellent internal customer service

 

  • Work with the warehouse to receive, inspect and store materials in an efficient and timely manner.

           

  • Work with the warehouse to take note of damaged or unusable products sending defective products back to the supplier.

 

  • Assist with ordering equipment for warehouse / website inventory.

 

  • Processing and releasing orders to manufacturers, releasing equipment as appropriate.  When necessary this function may be performed by the Application Engineer.

 

  • Create JBS’s in an accurate and timely manner, streamlining the formal communications between sales and accounting.

 

  • Assist the sales team in their responsibility to have an electronic job files created and populated with pertinent and up to date information.

 

  • Scanning all invoices to appropriate job files. Distribute hard copies to accounting.

 

  • Provide prompt communication with the project team regarding events that may impact project schedules.

 

  • Approve inventory purchase order requests and enter purchase orders into the system

 

  • Compile and communicate order statuses/tracking order/ship dates for current projects with factory, sales team, and customers.

 

  • Coordinate the receipt, delivery, and/or customer pick up of project equipment.

 

  • Process orders received through ShopVaritec

 

  • Process interoffice orders from Phoenix inventory.

 

  • Receive packing slips and apply against purchase orders in system.

 

  • Understand when new product should be brought in and when existing inventory should be phased out.

Field Service Technician  
Varitec – Albuquerque, NM

 

The Field Service Technician will serve as a representative of Varitec. The goal of the Technician is to provide an exceptional “owning experience” for the end user and contractor.  Start-up and commission of HVAC equipment including troubleshooting and repair issues with equipment upon arrival from the factory or during the warranty period.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Work as a team with the Service Coordinator to fulfill customer needs with courtesy in a timely manner.
  • Perform start up, owner training, or equipment troubleshooting and repair as required by the project.
  • Coordination of Varitec activities or its suppliers as well as with the mechanical, the general & often the owner.
  • Interface with Varitec Aftermarket Department to support their service needs as part of their selling activities.
  • Become familiar with factory personnel, product, model numbers, descriptions, etc.

Preferred Skills / Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in construction industry. 
  • HVAC install/service experience
  • R-410A Refrigerant Handling License
  • Refrigeration school certification is greatly preferred.
  • Government Clearances are a plus
  • OSHA Safety Certifications
  • Working knowledge of general HVAC equipment, VRV’s, VFD’s Controls, tools and their application.
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills required.
  • Ability to use Windows applications primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Licensed Journeyman Plumber

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • New Commercial & Residential Construction
  • Assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems according to specification and instruction from foreman.
  • Install CHW & HWS pipe systems, pipe supports, etc.…
  • Can perform work from a scissor /boom lift, ladders or scaffold
  • Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures of all types
  • May be required to perform duties up and beyond their job duties
  • Read Blueprints & Specifications
  •  Pull measurements accurately to locate plumbing fixtures via PDF files or via Bluebeam
  • Assist with production of BIM Drawings and Commissioning Agent
  • Experience in soldering and fitter copper pipe, plumbing fixtures, pipe hangers and cast iron as well as PVC sanitary piping, roof drainage, cut and threading steel pip and Victaulic required.
